The WWLLC is delighted to introduce FYRKUNA METALWORKS, a business based in Liberia that has been operating since 2007. This enterprise specializes in transforming decommissioned weapons and munitions from the Liberian civil conflicts (1989 to 2003) into exquisite metal artworks.
Founded by Manfred Zbrzezny, a talented German blacksmith with a deep commitment to this endeavor, Fyrkuna Metalworks has been making a significant impact since he arrived in Liberia in 2005. Zbrzezny's dedication and support have brought about positive changes in the lives of many individuals, some of whom were directly affected by the Liberian conflicts. These individuals have had the privilege of apprenticing and collaborating with Zbrzezny to produce stunning works of art. By employing cutting, molding, and welding techniques on scrap metals, weapons, and munitions, they skillfully fashion intricate sculptures, turning instruments of destruction into pieces of art. All this creative work takes place within their factory located in the Tweh Farm area of Bushrod Island, Liberia.
